Single mother loses ‘everything’ after air fryer explodes and sets fire to her home

A single mother lost everything she owned after her air fryer exploded and set fire to her home.

Angel Carpenter, 23, thought it was a joke when she got a call to say her house was on fire at around 11am on January 24.

She returned to find the property destroyed along with all her furniture and her daughter Frankie’s, 15-months-old, clothes and toys.

Shocking images captured in the aftermath show the devastating damage caused by the blaze.

In the kitchen the oven is covered in ash and the wallpaper is so charred that it’s peeling off.

The living room has a gaping hole in the wall and a door can be seen lying on the floor after being burned off of its hinges.

Angel was told by attending Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock firefighters the fire could have been caused by an electric fault which led the air fryer and two areoles to explode.

The fire also burst the water pipes which put out the flames.

Now Angel’s mother, Emma Carpenter, 43, is hoping to fundraise £4.5k to refurnish her daughters home.
