Heartbreaking Farewell: Family Pays Tribute to 13-Year-Old Mia Holland

The family of Mia Holland, a much-loved 13-year-old student, has spoken of their deep grief following her sudden passing earlier this year.

Mia had recently celebrated her birthday and, in the hours before her death on April 7, was said to be acting as her usual self. In the early morning, her father Chris discovered the heartbreaking scene at their home, where Mia was found still holding a cherished photograph of her family.

Emergency services were called immediately, but despite their efforts, nothing could be done. Mia was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m.

Mia, who had attended Clayton Hall Academy before moving to Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent, was remembered by teachers, friends, and her loved ones as a beautiful, vibrant young girl whose warmth touched everyone around her.

Her parents described her as “a bright, caring soul who brought joy to her family and friends,” adding that their lives have been forever changed by her loss.

Detective Constable Bethany Rayner confirmed that police and medical staff arrived quickly at the scene, alongside Mia’s family, but the tragedy could not be reversed.

As the community mourns, tributes continue to pour in for Mia — a young life remembered for her kindness, smile, and the love she carried with her until her final moments.
