Mom shot dead in hail of bullets inside daughter’s NYC apartment had been stalked, threatened by ex: family

Tragic mom Basilisa Negron, 47, was trying to move on after ending her roughly 20-year relationship with her boyfriend and had moved in with her adult daughter just three days before she was gunned down in the bathroom of the apartment on Malcolm X Boulevard, her younger brother Juan Romero told The Post.

The carnage unfolded while Negron’s daughter was at the store — and now Romero wants the ex brought in by cops.

“We’re just hanging on, the family is just hanging on waiting for him to be caught,” the Pennsylvania resident added. “If I ever see him face to face there won’t be any talking.”

Romero claimed the ex had even threatened Negron’s life during their bitter split.Law enforcement sources said the ex is considered a person of interest in the case but he had not been arrested or charged as of Wednesday afternoon.

Romero claimed he was told that when his sister previously went to police, cops didn’t help.

He said she filed a report as recently as when she was leaving the ex-boyfriend, but an NYPD spokesperson said there were no reported domestic violence incidents tied to the victim in the past week.

The spokesperson confirmed the victim has a “documented domestic history with the NYPD,” in which officers “took reports, initiated investigations, conducted follow ups and provided referrals to other domestic violence services.

“Regarding the homicide case, there are no arrests at this time and the investigation remains ongoing,” the spokesperson said.

Romero said the ex was controlling and overbearing over the course of the long relationship before his behavior reached a tipping point last week. When Negron left him recently, he couldn’t let her go, Romero claimed.

“My niece told me. He was telling her, ‘Oh, I see your mother. I know where she’s at. I know where she’s walking to right now. I know what time she goes in the house,” Romero claimed.

Romero said Negron was the oldest of six siblings, and shared three children with the ex-boyfriend whom she first met when they were kids.

“She was a loving person. Always trying to help people,” he recalled. “If she had her last dollar she’d give it to you to help you out.”
